When each drive is connected separately, they can be accessed, but only the first drive plugged in to the computer will be visible when both drives are plugged in. Connect each drive (one at a time) and create a backup of any data you may already have stored on the device. This was intermittent and eventually it occurred every time I logged on. I also tried to change the drive path through the 7 machine to one not being utilized on the 8.1 but that didn't work, you have to change the drive path Any ideas? Confirm Hard Drive is recognized in BIOS. Hard Drive Not Showing Up Scroll down to the Not Showing Up section below. Please perform these steps only if you are comfortable else seek a technician's help. If BIOS isn't seeing the drives during boot, it's not going to be reporting anything for Windows to manage.
