TijnusOct 13, 2010, 2:22 AM I have had the same with WD drives.3x 500GB WD MyBooks. 2 of them attached to a MacMini and one attached to an Ubuntu box.All the Unplug/Plug back in works...but so many mins later if I go to look at all the drive, ill actually just see it disappear off the list. Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I set it to never and have not had a problem since.

Tried downloading updated driver from Intel and installing....rebooted & connected USB3 hdd and it BSOD with the same error :-( BSOD file attached. Then the Joy ends. So, POWER to the drives is NOT the issue. External Hard Drive Disappears And Reappears In my experience USB3 is notoriously dependent on cable quality for any length over 1 meter. The external HD won't be disconnected until I try to copy files from VAIO to LaCie or the other way around, it would start the copying process and I can feel No spamming, advertising.

Even got desperate enough to install the Seagate Disk Manager to turn it off there in case it was a FIRMWARE setting on the drive itself or the enclosure PCB.
It originally looked like the disconnect of the HD was random but I guess it was always 20 min after the last access.
