Comparatively, Windows Vista when using the Windows Classic visual style did not behave this way (it behaved like XP), so my opinion is that this is a regression. But in my eyes, it is now a tired, and outdated aesthetic, just as we eventually got tired of the Windows XP look that we initially thrilled over. It's starting to sink in. Rename it to "color.msstyles". That is the dark theme i want.

Can't believe that is necessary - but thank you very much for that. I've no doubt that Microsoft will never address any of these problems, either in Windows 8 or in Windows 10. This "fixes" the issue of the window Background color set intheTheme and set in the Registry from reseting every time you log off and sleep windows.
