This is bogus - the only program in question is Explorer. I have put all my folders and sub folders with my pictures in the Windows 8 "Pictures" folder (which is under the heading of "This PC") to which I point the File sharing is fine, except that I have to enter the Win 7 user name and password before opening Win 7 folders from the XP machines.
